Thornton’s Old Theater Is Getting a Wild New Life as an Indoor Theme Park

Say goodbye to empty popcorn buckets and treadmills—Thornton Town Center’s former movie theater and fitness facility at 10001 Grant St. is being transformed into something way more exciting: an indoor theme park called Malibu Jack’s.

The Kentucky-based company behind the park, Jester FEC, specializes in reviving vacant spaces by turning them into full-blown entertainment hubs. Their latest project will bring go-karts, bowling, mini golf, laser tag, motion rides, arcade games, a roller coaster, and more to the north Denver ‘burbs.

Malibu Jack’s has already opened locations across the Midwest, but this will be their first in Colorado. The park is expected to open by mid-September and will bring around 100 new jobs to the community. Hiring is already underway.

“We love taking forgotten buildings and giving them new life,” said company president Steve Hatton. “We’re all about creating joy for families while making a real impact on the neighborhoods we move into.”

Thornton families, get ready—your next weekend adventure might be just around the corner.
