Heads Up: 10-Week Closure on Federal Boulevard in Littleton
If you drive through Littleton, get ready for a major summer detour. Starting the week of June 23, Federal Boulevard will be shut down between Belleview Avenue and Progress Avenue for about 10 weeks while crews replace a failing culvert beneath the road.
The city says this is part of a larger push to update aging parts of its stormwater system. The fix involves removing nearly 200 feet of deteriorated metal piping and replacing it with reinforced concrete, along with updates to junction boxes and pipe linings.
This closure is similar to recent culvert repair projects the city completed on Jackass Hill Road and East Mineral Avenue, with another one already planned for Broadway at Jamison Avenue.
Drivers will still be able to access businesses like Partner Colorado Credit Union and Foushee SalonSpa, but through-traffic will be rerouted. Suggested detours include South Irving Street, West Centennial Drive, or Highway 85.
Plan ahead—and leave a little extra time if you’re headed that way this summer.
