Denver’s Teddy Bear Patrol Collecting Donations for Kids in Crisis

Denver’s annual Teddy Bear Patrol is back, calling on the community to donate new stuffed animals to help comfort children during moments of trauma.

Now in its 8th year, the campaign — launched by KOSI 101.1 — aims to gather thousands of teddy bears and plush animals that will be distributed to police, fire, and EMS departments across the metro area. First responders keep these stuffed animals on hand to give to kids facing frightening or difficult situations, offering a small but powerful source of comfort.

Donations must be new stuffed animals (preferably in store packaging) and can be dropped off at six locations throughout Denver until Wednesday, September 17. For those who want to make it an event, a drive-thru collection day will take place on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Groove Subaru, 5300 S. Broadway in Englewood. Visitors will also get a chance to meet the KOSI 101.1 team — Jenny, Steve Marshall, Tammy, Kathie J, and of course, KOSI Bear.

It’s a simple way to spread kindness: donate a teddy bear, and you just might make a world of difference to a child in crisis.
