Lowry Residents Seek Answers After Brutal Dog Attack Involving Three Unleashed Pit Bulls

A frightening incident in the Lowry neighborhood on the evening of November 14 has sparked concern, anger, and community action after a family dog was violently attacked by three unleashed pit bulls. According to the dog’s owner, the attack happened quickly and without provocation, leaving their pet with multiple serious injuries including broken ribs, puncture wounds, and swelling severe enough to require emergency veterinary care and hospitalization.

The owner is now asking for help identifying the three pit bulls and the person responsible for them, as the dogs reportedly fled the area with their handler before authorities arrived. With many families, children, and other pets frequently walking in the neighborhood, residents say they are worried about future attacks and want the dogs located before another animal — or possibly a person — is harmed.

Community Reaction and Calls for Evidence

The incident quickly spread through neighborhood social media groups, where people offered advice, shared similar past experiences, and discussed next steps. Several commenters urged the victim to file an official report with animal control and law enforcement, save vet bills and documentation, and gather witness statements or camera footage from nearby homes, vehicles, or doorbell systems. Some long-time residents noted a similar attack involving three pit bulls in a nearby Aurora neighborhood in 2024, raising questions about whether the same dogs may be involved.

Alongside concerns, the conversation shifted toward accountability and responsible pet ownership. Many residents expressed sympathy for the injured dog and its family, stating that tragedies like this are avoidable when animals are properly trained, socialized, leashed, and supervised.

Anyone who witnessed the attack, knows the dogs involved, or captured photos or video on phone, doorbell, or security cameras is encouraged to come forward so authorities can take appropriate action and help prevent future incidents. Denver Crime Stoppers
