How Many Crashes Will It Take? Aurora Street Turns Dangerous Again After Latest Wreck
According to KMGH residents along a stretch of Peoria Street in Aurora say dangerous driving has turned their neighborhood into what they describe as a “speedway,” after yet another crash sent a vehicle slamming into a homeowner’s fence.
The latest incident happened around 4:45 p.m. near Peoria Street and Alaska Place, where a car crashed into the fence of the Ortiz family’s property. Thankfully, no one was injured, but neighbors say it’s becoming an all-too-common close call.
According to residents, this marks at least the fifth crash in the past year to cause significant damage along the same stretch of road. Many say speeding drivers and reckless behavior have made the area increasingly dangerous for families, pedestrians, and nearby homes.
Neighbors are now calling for action, urging city leaders to step in with solutions like traffic calming measures, increased enforcement, or roadway redesigns before someone gets seriously hurt.
“Something needs to be done,” one neighbor said, echoing the growing frustration from those who live along the troubled corridor.
