Worker Under Investigation After Bathroom Incident at DIA

A serious privacy violation at Denver International Airport (DIA) has led to an investigation involving a food services worker employed by Gate Gourmet. The worker is accused of attempting to secretly photograph a passenger in a men’s restroom at the A Concourse.

The incident unfolded when a 24-year-old passenger noticed a cellphone camera reaching under his stall. The passenger immediately shouted, prompting the worker to flee. However, the passenger pursued and confronted the employee, identified by his lanyard and ID badge. The worker reportedly admitted to taking the photo, offered to delete it, and handed over his phone. A photograph was found during the confrontation.

The passenger initially allowed the worker to delete the image but later decided to press charges, citing concerns that the incident could have involved other victims, including children. Denver police detained the worker for questioning, and an investigation is ongoing.

Gate Gourmet responded by suspending the employee and revoking his airport security credentials. The company emphasized its commitment to cooperating fully with authorities and ensuring the safety and privacy of all airport visitors. It also clarified that the misconduct was not related to the worker’s official duties.

The incident has raised broader concerns about privacy and security at DIA, as authorities continue their investigation into the matter.
