Passenger Headed to Denver Arrested After Wild Brawl Breaks Out on Plane
A man was arrested at Miami International Airport after a fight broke out while passengers were boarding a Southwest Airlines flight headed to Colorado.
Police say the incident happened on March 6 as passengers were getting settled on the plane. Authorities said one passenger began acting disruptive during the boarding process, causing concern among others on the flight.
Another traveler reportedly tried to calm the situation, but the interaction quickly escalated into a verbal argument. The confrontation soon turned physical, with cellphone video capturing the two men fighting and falling into the aisle of the aircraft.
Airport police responded and eventually restrained the man identified as Marcial Martinez. Officers said they could smell alcohol on his breath when he was taken into custody.
Martinez was arrested and now faces charges of battery and disorderly intoxication.
