Child Rescued After DUI Chase on I-70, CSP Says
A child was safely rescued after a suspected drunk driver led Colorado State Patrol (CSP) on a chase along I-70 in a car missing license plates and trailing a gas pump nozzle. The July 29 incident began near Deer Trail when a concerned driver called *CSP to report a green Volvo station wagon with a child inside screaming for help.

Troopers located the vehicle and pursued it for roughly 30 miles before stopping it near Watkins. The driver, whose name has not been released, was arrested and faces charges including DUI, felony eluding, reckless endangerment, and child abuse. CSP said the child was unharmed. The agency credited the *CSP hotline—used by thousands annually to report dangerous drivers—with helping intervene before the situation escalated further.
