Girl Stabbed During Argument at Aurora Middle School, Police Say
A violent altercation at an Aurora school on Wednesday afternoon left one girl seriously injured after she was stabbed during an argument with another student, according to Aurora Police.
The incident occurred around 1:23 p.m. on the campus of Aurora Science and Tech Middle School, which serves students in grades 6 through 8 and is located near Fitzsimons Parkway. Police said the stabbing happened outside on school grounds after an argument escalated between two girls. One girl allegedly pulled a weapon and stabbed the other.
The injured student was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed the suspect was detained at the scene. While the stabbing occurred on the middle school campus, it has not been confirmed whether the individuals involved attend the middle school or the nearby high school.
In a statement, a school spokesperson acknowledged the incident and said, “There was an altercation today on our Aurora Science & Tech Middle School campus between two students. Both students are safe, and we are closely following all necessary safety procedures and the guidance of law enforcement and APS Safety and Security.”
Aurora Police continue to investigate the incident.
