A stunning new mural in Colorado is turning heads while raising awareness about an important cause. Public art installations are a vibrant way to add culture and spark conversation, and Colorado has long embraced this. One of the latest examples is a striking mural on the side of an independent grocery store in Denver, at 2630 West 38th Avenue, known as Leevers Locavore.

Created by Colorado artist Chelsea Lewinski, the mural features a woman named Sala Matu, a successful and inspirational figure in the farming industry. Matu inherited her father’s farm at the age of 29 and has since thrived in her field, becoming a powerful symbol of independent farming. Lewinski’s goal with this mural was to raise awareness about fair trade, fair wages, and ethical farming practices, especially for farmers like Matu.

Lewinski chose to honor Matu to highlight her achievements and to bring attention to the need for better support for those in the farming industry. The mural not only carries a strong message about global agricultural practices but also beautifies the community, making a bold statement about the power of art to inspire change.
