A new milestone was reached this week in Denver’s smoggy and scorching summer.
Right now, Denver had officially reached 100 degrees, surpassing the previous record of 98 set in 1876.
The 100-degree temperature clinched the city’s fifth day with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees this year. It places this year in a tie for third place for the number of 100-degree days in a single year with three other years.
