TMZ: John Elway Involved in Golf Cart Accident That Left Longtime Agent Hospitalized
TMZ reports that NFL legend and former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway was driving a golf cart when his longtime friend and business partner, Jeff Sperbeck, fell off and suffered a severe head injury. The incident occurred Saturday evening at the exclusive Madison Club in La Quinta, California.
According to TMZ, Sperbeck fell from the back of the moving cart, rolled over, and struck his head on the concrete. Elway immediately called 911, and emergency responders arrived to find Sperbeck unconscious but still breathing. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains on life support with a reported traumatic brain injury.
Sperbeck, 61, is a well-known NFL agent who has represented more than 100 players and recently partnered with Elway to launch a winery in Napa Valley. No other injuries were reported, and Elway has yet to issue a public statement about the incident.
