These superheroes have put their lives on the line during times of war or peace. They joined the military at various ages and from different backgrounds. Some of them bravely volunteered, while others were drafted.

These veterans have served on active duty in the military, including:

  • The U.S. Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marine Corps
  • Coast Guard

Why We Should Honor Veterans

We can only imagine what the veterans went through for us. They did a lot of great things, even unimaginable things, just for our country. They put their lives on the line and put everything else on hold to carry out their responsibilities.

There would be no United States of America without them.

Veterans Protected Us

Veterans have defended our liberties as Americans and made our ancestors’ dreams turn into a reality. We owe our gratitude to brave veterans who risked their lives to protect our freedom.

Veterans Shaped Our Country

Our brave heroes fought hard in several wars that formed the country we now proudly call home.

Veterans Protected Our Freedom

We have today’s freedoms thanks to the courageous Veterans of the past. They sacrificed and fought for our freedom and served our country well.

Veterans Are Committed to Our Country

They put their lives at risk in the hopes of opening the way for a better tomorrow, and for people to live in a better country. These superheroes are brave and determined individuals who have dedicated their lives and given so much. They are committed not just to us, but also to our beloved country.

How To Honor Veterans

We owe a debt to the heroic veterans and their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country. On Veterans Day and every day, we should show our appreciation and respect to the heroic veterans for their service and sacrifices on behalf of us and our country.

Attend a Veterans Day Event

Participate in a local Veterans Day event, not just hanging out with friends, but a true procession or service for veterans. This is one genuine way of showing your appreciation towards Veterans.

Ask Veterans About Their Service

Allow veterans to share their personal stories. You will be able to respect and understand more about their importance and what they accomplished for our country.

Give Back to Our Veterans

One way to express gratitude to our veterans is by donating to or participating, and supporting organizations that support and assist veterans.

One organization you can support is The VAC, also known as The Veterans Arts Council, founded by VFW Post 1. They are a non-profit veterans organization open to all military veterans that are into arts.

The VAC promotes veterans’ artistic growth to enable them to translate their experiences into media and contribute to a larger arts community that benefits all citizens.

You may support and participate in their fundraiser that is called Portraits Helping Heroes. Any donations raised will benefit the VFW Post 1 Veterans Arts Council. Support their fundraiser and help them achieve their goal to become a nationwide art, music, writing, and performance program with local chapters around the country.
