This Veterans Day, Colorado pauses to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with dedication and courage. From the stunning peaks of the Rockies to the bustling heart of Denver, Colorado is home to countless veterans who have given their time, strength, and even their lives to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Today, we celebrate each and every one of them—not only for their service but for the enduring spirit they bring to our communities.

As we gather to recognize these heroes, it’s a time to reflect on what truly unites us. Only a week after casting ballots in elections, we are reminded that while we may come from different backgrounds and beliefs, we all share in the gratitude for those who serve. Veterans Day is a moment to look beyond our differences and come together to honor our shared commitment to the values of freedom, resilience, and compassion that our veterans have upheld.

Across Colorado, celebrations and ceremonies will bring people together to express appreciation. In towns large and small, Coloradans will gather in parks, town halls, and community centers, lifting voices in support of those who have served. From Fort Carson and Buckley Space Force Base to local National Guard units, each story of service is a thread in the fabric of our state, woven with strength and honor. This day is a chance for all of us, no matter who we are or where we’re from, to remember the sacrifices made by our service members and to thank them wholeheartedly.

Today, let’s take a moment to connect, to shake a veteran’s hand, or simply to share a quiet moment of reflection. Veterans Day reminds us of the power of unity, of the values we all cherish, and of the courage it takes to protect them. To every Colorado veteran, and to those who love and support them, thank you. Your service has made our state, and our nation, a better place.
