WATCH: Man Caught on Camera Stealing Package with Child in Tow in Centennial
A Centennial couple is less concerned about a stolen package than the disturbing scene captured on their doorbell camera: a man committing the theft while accompanied by a child. The incident happened Thursday evening and was caught on video, which shows the man walking up to the porch with the child and grabbing a package—clearly heard on the footage is the child saying, “No, you’re the one stealing them.”
Crosby Moresco, who recently moved into the neighborhood with his wife, said they were drawn to the area for its reputation as a safe place to start a family. That made what they saw on camera all the more shocking. “We’re expecting our first child, and to have the stolen package be a gift from our baby registry stings a little more,” Moresco said. However, he said he’s more troubled by the fact that a child was part of the crime, noting the risks involved in putting a young person in such a situation.
“You’re walking up to random houses. You don’t know who’s behind that door. That’s a dangerous lesson to teach,” he said. Moresco reported the incident to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and provided the video in hopes that authorities can identify the man and protect the child involved.
