Thieves Fake Seizure to Steal Puppies from Centennial Pet Store
A brazen puppy theft unfolded at Perfect Pets in Centennial on Friday, with security footage capturing an elaborate distraction scheme involving a suspect faking a seizure while an accomplice stole two English bulldog puppies.
Caught on Camera: How It Happened
Security video shows a male suspect at the counter, engaging an employee in conversation. Moments later, another individual inside the store collapses to the floor, pretending to have a medical emergency. As store employees rushed to assist, the suspect at the counter moved swiftly to the back, grabbed two puppies from a display cage, and ran toward the store’s exit.
A struggle ensued as employees tried to stop him, causing the suspect to drop the puppies before quickly scooping them back up and fleeing in what witnesses described as a gold Cadillac Escalade.
“I couldn’t even believe the way he treated these dogs,” said store manager Bianca Rose Larsen. “They were screaming, crying—it was brutal. He just ripped them out like they were pieces of meat.”
Not the First Theft
This incident marks the second puppy theft at the store this month. On February 12, a woman stole a puppy by concealing it in a baby stroller. The ongoing security threats have left employees frustrated and on edge.
“It’s just so frustrating,” Larsen added. “I should be able to enjoy my job, but instead, I have so much anxiety and fear every day.”
$4,000 Reward Offered
To help recover the stolen puppies and bring the suspects to justice, Perfect Pets is offering a $4,000 reward—their biggest reward yet—for the safe return of the dogs and the arrest of those responsible.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one suspect was arrested at the scene, while the others escaped in the Cadillac Escalade. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call their tip line at 720-874-8477.
