Colorado Springs Lands on National ‘Most Boring Cities’ List — But Do Locals Agree?

While Colorado is often celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, booming craft beer scene, and endless outdoor adventures, not every city in the state is earning national praise. In a surprising twist, Colorado Springs has just been named one of the “Most Boring Cities in America” by a new ranking from Finance Buzz.

The list, which highlights cities lacking in nightlife, entertainment variety, and cultural diversity, placed Colorado Springs at No. 14—just behind places like Bakersfield, California, and ahead of cities such as Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to Finance Buzz, while the Springs boasts plenty of natural beauty and outdoor opportunities, it falls short when it comes to urban excitement. The report cited a limited food scene, lackluster nightlife, and a somewhat remote location as reasons it made the cut.

This may come as a surprise to many Coloradans, especially considering the state’s capital, Denver, recently ranked among the most exciting cities in the U.S. Known for its thriving arts scene, diverse dining options, and constant stream of festivals and events, Denver continues to shine on a national level.

As for Colorado Springs, some residents are pushing back on the ranking, arguing that its access to hiking, mountain views, and growing brewery scene more than make up for any lack of nightlife. Others admit the pace might not be for everyone—but that’s exactly why they like it.

Whether you agree or not, one thing’s certain: Colorado’s charm comes in many flavors—and sometimes, a little peace and quiet is exactly the vibe people are after.
