Will Colorado Be Seeing All Its Hooters Closing?

Despite concerns over Hooters of America LLC’s financial struggles, Restaurants of America, which operates five Hooters locations in Colorado, assures that their restaurants are not directly affected. The company, which also owns Hooters spots in Arizona, New Mexico, and Minnesota, stated that they operate separately from the franchisor and will continue business as usual. However, with over 40 closures nationwide in the past year and rumors of bankruptcy filings, questions remain about the long-term future of the brand.

Hooters, founded in 1982, built its reputation on wings, beer, and its signature servers, but some wonder if its appeal is fading. The Loveland Hooters, which underwent major renovations in 2022, remains open, but foot traffic appears low, fueling speculation about whether Colorado locations could be at risk. While bankruptcy doesn’t always mean closures, it often leads to location cuts, and underperforming stores could be on the chopping block. With fewer customers filling the seats, Hooters may need to rethink its future in Colorado.
