Denver Broncos Hall of Famer Terrell Davis “In Shock” After Incident on United Airlines Flight

Denver Broncos Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis found himself in an unexpected and distressing situation over the weekend when FBI agents detained him following an incident on a United Airlines flight from Denver to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.

Davis shared his experience on social media, expressing his shock and disbelief at the turn of events. He recounted that during the flight, he had tried to get a flight attendant’s attention to fulfill a request from his family member sitting next to him. When the flight attendant did not respond, Davis tapped him on the arm. According to Davis, the flight attendant reacted rudely and accused him of hitting him.

The FBI’s Los Angeles office, in a statement, did not name Davis but confirmed that agents, along with local police, responded to an incident aboard the flight that required further investigation. They stated that the individual detained was cooperative and released to continue his travels.

Davis, who was traveling with his wife and three children, described the incident as traumatizing. He explained that during the beverage service, his son had politely requested a cup of ice, which was ignored by the flight attendant. When Davis lightly tapped the attendant’s arm to get his attention, the attendant shouted, “Don’t hit me,” and moved away.

Before disembarking, the plane’s captain asked all passengers to remain seated. Law enforcement officers then boarded, handcuffed Davis, and escorted him off the plane without an explanation. During the subsequent questioning, Davis said the FBI acknowledged that the flight attendant’s accusation was inaccurate, apologized to him, and released him.

Feeling humiliated and angry, Davis called the incident a “disgusting display of injustice and deplorable treatment by United Airlines.” He stated that his legal team is contacting United Airlines, demanding a thorough investigation into the flight attendant’s conduct.

In response to CBS Colorado’s inquiry, United Airlines stated: “This is clearly not the kind of travel experience we strive to provide, and we have reached out to Mr. Davis’s team to apologize. We have removed the flight attendant from duty while we closely review this matter.”

Davis’s experience highlights significant issues with passenger treatment and protocol in-flight, sparking a call for justice and accountability.
