The joys of having your own family are great, but it’s hard work keeping up with all those kids and their endless needs. Teaching them how to do chores like cleaning or laundry is much more than most parents bargained for at first!

I understand why you might think “fun” doesn’t belong in this sentence – we’re talking about teaching small children after all, but let me assure ya’ there’ll be plenty o’ laughs along the way if only because everything seems so crazy vivid when they’re young…

Together, you can teach your toddler the basics of cleaning up after themselves by setting an example. Start teaching them about different types of chores early so they are prepared when it is time for those tasks on their own!
At what age should your kids start doing laundry?
Teaching your children how to sort clothes by color is a great way for them to start learning the basics of organized living. You can even make this an educational game that will give kids aged 2 or 3 valuable knowledge on what it means when they see certain colors being worn together!

From the ages of four to nine, children are able to help with folding and organizing laundry. They still shouldn’t work any machines themselves but they can be given supervision while working in other parts like loading or unloading them if needed!

From age 10, kids can start being in charge of a full cycle with supervision. They’ll be mature enough to understand how the appliances work and use them carefully without breaking machines or hurting themselves!

By the time your kids reach their teenage years they can be fully in charge of their own laundry without supervision.
The general age breakdown for different parts of the laundry cycle is the following:

Age 2–3: Learn how to color code and sort
Age 4–9: Help with folding and organizing the clothes, and loading and unloading the machines
Age 10–12: Do laundry with supervision
Age 13+: Be fully in charge of their own laundry
