The Rio Grande has long been a go-to for those looking to get their hands on some of Colorado’s best burritos, but now they’re taking things one step further by opening up shop just three blocks away! The new location will be open Friday, June 3rd and you can find them at 1745 Wazee Street.

With this new development, there will be less staff needed to run the business and it offers mortgage costs that are fixed in an increasingly volatile market. In addition, having Union Station neighborhood residents as clients of theirs is already built-in for them! The Wazee Street Rio is located inside the space that Morton’s last occupied until its pandemic closure in 2020. The Wazee Street Rio will be able to fill that void and bring new energy downtown. Owner McGaughran hopes they can become a staple for ballpark residents as well!

“You’ve got to stay on your game here, and that’s what I’m hoping that today’s presentation of the Rio (does),” he said.

The former steakhouse has been completely scraped to create a light-filled and fun corner dining area. The new design features an outdoor sidewalk patio with beautiful lighting, giving patrons plenty of space for socializing or intimate dates under the stars!
