Is Denver The Next NYC?

With Denver’s high crime and cost of living, it seems we are turning into a major city like New York or Miami. With that recent change comes many high-profile companies looking to set up shop in the Mile-high city. These companies are already in major cities across the country from Los Angeles to NYC.

Why are companies looking to get established in our city?

Globally recognized brands are looking at Colorado and seeing our sudden influx of a young and wealthy population. We have a strong tourism industry and we live in a city that is rapidly expanding. This makes our city appealing to many companies looking to expand their brand.

Among these companies, four prominent businesses recently announced plans to expand their businesses in the Centennial State.

-British billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Hotels brand chose Denver for it’s newest property. They plan on opening in 2025 as part of a 41 acre, mixed-use development.

-Museum of Illusions, the largest chain of private museums worldwide, is expanding nationwide with a location in the 16th Street Mall in 2023.

-BrewDog, a Scotland-based brewery with about 150 locations globally, is opening its very first franchise in the U.S., and they chose Denver as their first spot.

-Blue in Green — a Japanese denim brand with a current location in New York City, which GQ raved about, is opening in RiNo.

These companies are raving about Denver and likening it to their current homes in hot, trendy cities.

Now, will the arrival of these big-name brands revitalize some of our post-pandemic vacancies?

I guess that answer will come in time. But change is coming, and we hope that this is finally some good change.
