Kraft Heinz is recalling over 83,000 cases of individually-wrapped Kraft Singles American cheese slices due to a choking hazard. The issue was caused by a faulty wrapping machine that may leave a thin strip of plastic on the slice even after the wrapper has been removed.
The recalled cheese slices have the following UPC code:
- 0 2100061526 1
and a “Best When Used By” date of January 10, 2024, through January 27, 2024.
Consumers who have purchased this cheese are urged not to eat it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Kraft Heinz initiated the recall after receiving several complaints from consumers who found plastic on their cheese slices. There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses.
