Alleged Peeping Tom victim takes matters into her own hands
Michelle Chandler, a Lakewood resident and mother of five, found herself in a terrifying situation while trying on clothes at a department store. The incident, which reportedly occurred on a Saturday afternoon, involved a suspected Peeping Tom in the shared dressing room area.
Chandler noticed a hand and phone peeking through the gap beneath the partition while she was changing. Taking a stand, she confronted the culprit, who was allegedly using his phone to record her.
Determined to prevent escape, Chandler subdued the suspect until help arrived. Her actions, captured on her phone, show her holding down the young man with the assistance of store employees. The suspect was eventually restrained with a belt.
“You need to be held accountable,” Chandler is quoted as saying.
The Lakewood Police Department confirmed their response to the incident.
