United reps say the new expansion will help “improve the Denver airport experience,” however, many can’t help but wonder if United’s major moves will increase flight delays and have longer TSA lines.

United Airlines announced its plans to add 35 flights to the DEN network, including six new routes, 12 gates, a new flight bank, and three clubs, as reported by a United Airlines press release. The release says a $1 billion stipend United will use to add a new lounge along with “improving the customer experience.”

“Denver is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and as the Mile High City’s most flown airline, it’s essential that we maintain the most modern infrastructure and fleet to support our local employees and customers and deliver a great experience,” said United CEO Scott Kirby in a press release.

New non-stop flights include:

  • Asheville Regional Airport
  • Dayton International airport
  • Greensboro Piedmont Triad International Airport
  • Lexington Blue Grass Airport
  • Montego Bay Sangster International Airport
  • San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport

“Our expansion in Denver will further enable us to connect our customers to destinations across the globe and revitalize our presence at the airport with modern, customer-friendly offerings.”

While there are plenty of flights and changes to the Denver airports United hub appearance, this summer, the carrier is doubling the “early morning departures and late evening arrivals in and out of Denver, giving customers more flexibility and more options to stay away longer.”

“It’s been an honor to work with United during my time as Mayor of Denver. Together, we’ve been able to extend our city’s reach across the world,” said Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. “United’s domestic and global network supports DEN’s Vision 100 strategic plan to expand for 100 million passengers within the next decade, and I’m proud to see them continue to grow their network at DEN and further connect our community to more destinations.”
