There’s a little thing called “personal space” that some people can’t seem to grasp. While it’s no surprise for someone to stand way to close to you in a check-out lane, it’s an obvious given to not approach a wild animal – no matter how “peaceful” they might look.

“The older gentleman walked up a hillside to photograph her and her calf with his cell phone,” Kristy,  a Colorado local who caught the chaotic scene and posted it to her Instagram. “She chased him down the hill and across the road. He didn’t even drop his soda.”

“Approaching wild animals can drastically affect their well-being and, in some cases, their survival,” said the NPS in a statement . “When an animal is near a campsite, trail, boardwalk, parking lot, on a road, or in a developed area, leave it alone and give it space.”
