Denver Micro-Community Opens Monday, But Concerns Linger

Denver is opening a new micro-community for people experiencing homelessness in the Overland Park neighborhood on Monday. The community, made up of 60 tiny homes, aims to provide residents with supportive services like healthcare and job training. However, some neighbors are concerned about potential safety issues and property values.

City Council Member Flor Alvidrez assures residents that the gated and staffed community will be safe. She also emphasized her commitment to working with the community as this initiative progresses. Alvidrez has plans to announce additional support for people experiencing homelessness in the coming months.
