Lamar Drive resident Chris Hunnel told FOX31 that he and his neighbor, identified only as Mark, had been filming for the documentary series’ second season for about a week. The vehicle was parked beside Hunnel’s home with a banner daring someone to move it, complete with profanity. Neither man claimed responsibility for bringing it there. Hunnel said the director had mentioned something was coming, but who actually arranged its arrival remains unclear.
According to Hunnel, an argument between Mark and a third neighbor escalated after insults about that neighbor’s wife. Hunnel said the other man pulled out a gun but did not point it at anyone or fire it. Those details are his account of the confrontation.
Arvada police spokesperson David Snelling told FOX31 the department had not been notified about the filming and could not confirm whether the city had issued a permit. Police were investigating potential charges involving multiple people and seeking surveillance footage to help determine what happened.
HBO and production company A24 had not responded to FOX31’s requests for comment by its report’s deadline. For now, who brought an armored vehicle into a neighborhood feud is still an unanswered question.
