Pikes Peak is looking a lot like winter this Friday morning. Summit cameras show snow covering the rocks and walkways after this week’s snowfall. According to KKTV, the summit had received 4 inches by Thursday morning, September 24. 
The snow started Wednesday afternoon on the 14,115-foot mountain. By that night, summit cameras showed a light coating beginning to stick. What started as a dusting turned into a measurable snowfall overnight.
Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service recorded a temperature of 33 degrees at the summit. While showers moved through lower elevations, conditions up on America’s Mountain were cold enough for snow. Fall colors below and fresh snow above? That’s September in Colorado.
